Crafting A Collaborative Divorce Parenting Plan: The Essentials
A Seminar for Collaborative Mental Health Professionals
Kate Scharff, LCSW‐C, LICSW, Instructor
In this seminar we will learn the basic structure of a Collaborative Divorce parenting plan (and how it differs from a traditional custody agreement). We will explore common ways of addressing each “clause,” and how to help a couple match their decisions to their family’s unique logistic, financial, and emotional realities. This seminar will provide the tools learners will need to hit the ground running, and is a good precursor to a more in‐depth training later. Attendees will receive sample parenting plans, articles describing the latest research on children and divorce, an AFCC Par‐ enting Plan Handbook for parents and professionals, and readings on working with the emotions in the room.
